2011 Canadian Beach Volleyball Championships

Ashbridges Bay in Toronto, Ontario. Photograph: Wikimedia.orgVolleyball Canada has announced the site for the 2011 Canadian Beach Volleyball Championships.  Ashbridges Bay in Toronto, Ontario will host the event on August 26th through 28th.

The competition is a major highlight in the beach volleyball season and traditionally attracts the cream of the crop of Canada’s top beach players. 

That includes defending champion Martin Reader of Comox, B.C., and Chaim Schalk of Red Deer, Alta., for the men and Liz Maloney and Heather Bansley of Toronto for the women; pro tour regulars Richard Van Huizen and Christian Redmann of Toronto and Marie-Andrée Lessard of Ville LaSalle, Que., and Annie Martin of Sherbrooke, as well as world junior champions Garrett May and Sam Schachter, both of Toronto.
