UBC-O Volleyball Player Dies in Car Crash
We have some sad news out of Vancouver this afternoon. The Vancouver Sun is reporting that 18 year old Jordan Young has been identified as the individual killed in a car crash on Saturday. Jordan was an Outside Hitter on the UBC-O men's volleyball team, one of the teams heading to CCAA Nationals later this week.
RCMP say a 1999 Saturn driven by 18-year-old Jordan Young from Vernon died after being extracted from the car following a collision with a power pole on Commonage Road. The 18-year-old male was brought to Vernon hospital and immediately transferred to Kelowna General Hospital but died of his injuries.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Young family and the UBC-O team.
