You want Olympic coverage, we’ve got it from end to end, with a focus on our Canadian beach teams and a look at the British indoor teams, both of which had Canadian connections. Our main man, publisher Ahren Cadieux, was also on the scene in London.

Representing the Brits indoors was former Canadian National Team captain Jason Haldane, who spoke for all the Olympians when he said, “It’s been the craziest experience, the Olympic dream!”
He went on to say: “I just wish we could have done better, but from where we started here in the U.K., we did pretty good.” Our beach teams would like to have gone further, too, but they did come up with some solid efforts against much better regarded sides.

There’s more, as we’ve got coverage of Beach Nationals (and the Open) from Vancouver, Junior Worlds from Halifax and a ton of other news to report from places near and far. There are profiles of Olympian Josh Binstock and new women’s indoor captain Brittney Page (that’s Page, not Spears!) and the usual great advice from our panel of experts, including Paul Duerden, Natascha Wesch and coach Vincent Pichette.
Finally, a comment on the overall Canadian coverage of the Olympics. Do we have to be so serious? This is a celebration of sport, the Olympic GAMES. Besides, Canada brought home more than its share of medals.
My favorite shot from London was the one taken at the closing ceremonies that appeared on the cover of the Globe and Mail the day after. It showed a beaming Binstock and partner Martin Reader balancing a couple of our triumphant trampolinists on their shoulders.
They were lovin’ it.
Enjoy!
