The Canadian men's team of Ben Saxton and Chaim Schalk finished the FIVB Xiamen Grand Slam event in 9th place losing a three set battle to Stiekema-Varenhorst of The Netherlands.  This is their fourth 9th place finish this year on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour.  The other Canadian men's team of Maverick Hatch and Christian Redmann finished 33rd, exiting the tournament in the final round of qualification.

The Canadian women's team of Jamie Broder and Kristina Valjas is still currently in the tournament over in Xiamen and play tonight at 8:00 p.m. EST in the second round of elimination.  For live streams, be sure to check out our Xiamen post.
