NCAA: December 13th - Third Round
It's going to be another fantastic weekend of NCAA Women's Volleyball, and Volleyball Source is here to make sure that you don't miss a minute.
Here's a few match-ups that we think you should check out.
No. 2 Penn St vs. Michigan State
This Big 10 face-off is made even more exciting that Michigan State was the last team to beat Penn State, back on September 27th. Unfortunately for the Spartans and their two Canadians, the Nittany Lions have won 21 matches since that last loss. Regardless, this one has the potential to be a slugfest.
No. 7 Stanford vs. No. 10 Minnesota
The two top conferences in the NCAA go head-to-head in this match-up, with the Pac-12 runners-up Stanford taking on Hugh McCutcheon's Minnesota Golden Gophers. Can MInnesota prove that the Big 10 is truly at the top now? Or will the powerhouse that is Stanford volleyball reconfirm Pac-12 dominance?
No. 13 Illinois vs. Purdue
Illinois finished only one-game ahead of Purdue in the Big Ten standings, and they spilt the season-series at a game a piece. Which one will be left standing when the dust settles?
No. 3 Washington vs. No. 14 Kansas
The Pac-12 Champion takes on second-fiddle from the Big 12, Kansas. The Jayhawks are led by Canadian Caroline Jarmoc, and could be poised for a major upset. Not many people have them getting past Washington, but we wouldn't count out Kansas for a second.
No. 6 USC vs. BYU
Canadian Alexa Gray led the Cougars past Hawai'i in one of the second-rounds bigger upsets. Can she do it again against an even bigger opponent, USC's Women of Troy?
