FIVB: 2013 World Cup Final
Today marks the start of the 2013 FIVB World Cup Final from Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil. This tournament is structured a bit differently from other FIVB Beach Volleyball events. To qualify you need to fit into one of three criteria:
- Win your Continental Cup Final.
- Qualify the maximum 2 Olympic places determined by the Olympic Ranking.
- The Gold Medallist country from The London 2012 Olympics. If they already qualified via #1 or #2, then the next highest ranked country qualifies.
Those rules determine which countries get to compete. In Canada, because the Olympic partership of Binstock-Reader had parted ways, we had a trials event to determine which Canadian men's team got to attend the 2013 World Cup Finals.
There are two pools of five teams each. After pool play, the top two teams in each pool go onto the semi-finals. Below are the teams, live stream links and results.
