CIS: January 10th-12th Live Streams
There's a smell in the air and a spring in our step, and no, it's not the Arctic Vortex forcing us to race home and warm-up, but the CIS is back for the first time in 2014, and we couldn't be more excited. Here are a few matches that we think you should check out this weekend!
Women - No. 3 UBCO vs. No. 1 UBC - Friday @ 6, Saturday @ 5
Not only is this a battle of sister schools, but the little sister has taken some gigantic leaps since joining the CIS in 2011. The Heat haven't lost a set since they lost 3-0 to Brandon on November 9th, and continued rolling right through their mid-season tournament in Barbados. Is the little since ready to knock down one of the most dominant teams in CIS history?
Men - No. 1 McMaster vs. Western - Friday @ 8
The Western Mustangs are one of only two teams who have been able to take sets away from the undefeated Marauders this season. They may very well be headed on a collision course in the OUA final once again this year, and their's little doubt that Western would like to knock down McMaster a notch or two before that potential grudge match.
Men - No. 5 Brandon vs. No. 7 Thompson Rivers - Friday @ 7:45, Saturday @ 6:45
The playoff push starts nice and early in 2014 for these two teams. The Wolf Pack sit at 8-4, only one game ahead of the Bobcats 7-5. Brandon's chance to leapfrog Thompson Rivers and into the top four in the conference may never be this good again.
