A large infographic has been making its rounds across the web featuring the tallest athletes in various sports. It's part of an upcoming paperback book called Sportographica. Amazon describes it as "the world of sport in 101 quirky and amusing infographics. Fourth among the other athletes from various sports, you'll notice Russian middle Dmitriy Muserskiy as volleyball's tallest at 7'2". Muserskiy represented Russia in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, where Russia beat Brazil for a Gold Medal. He also plays for the CEV volleyball club Belogorie Belgorod, who are fresh off being crowned CEV Champions barely a week ago. Clearly, this is a man who is not only tall, but knows how to use that length to his advantage.

According to Wikipedia, which is a completely credible source, Muserskiy is the tallest volleyball player to have played the game. Russia's Nelly Alisheva shows up as the tallest female at 6'9". A site by the title of TallMenChat.com reports that a 7'3" teenage from Thailand is about to turn pro, but they aren't exactly ESPN when it comes to being a credible source.  However, there are plenty of photos and videos to go along with the info, including a full set of what appears to be a semi-professional Thai league. Around the 4:10 mark of that video, it features the big man getting blocked by somebody who can't be taller than 6'4". Or maybe they just look tiny in comparison to the beast. Either way, the adage goes "you can't teach height," and he's got it.
