Three Stars of the Week - November 9th-15th
1st Start - Caroline Jarmoc - Allianz MTV Stuttgart
Caroline Jarmoc (Calgary, AB) has arrived in the Bundesliga. After a tough Champions League outing on Thursday, Stuttgart had a big weekend ahead with a double-header on the road. They came out unscathed with victories of 3-0 over VCO Berlin and 3-2 against SC Potsdam, in large part due to the work of Jarmoc. In her first starts of the season, the former Kansas Jayhawk dropped 14 points in both matches, picking up nine blocks over eight sets in the process.
The wins bump Stuttgart to third - three points behind the leader with 14.
2nd Star - Gord Perrin - Piacenza
Gord Perrin (Cresson, BC) continues to thrive in one of the best leagues in the world. Leading Piacenza of Italy in scoring through four matches, it was no different on Sunday when the Canadian outside shone with a 15 point performance. His team wasn't as lucky - dropping the 3-1 decision to Verona.
3rd Star - Toon van Lankvelt - Jastrzebski Wegiel
Poland's Plus Liga is never without drama, and it was in full effect on the weekend as 2nd Star - Jastrzebski Wegiel handed the star-studded Resovia Rezeszow a 3-2 defeat. Toon van Lankvelt (Rivers, MB) stood tall for the black and orange with 11 points including the game-winning block to improve his team to 3-1.
