Brazil: Two In-A-Row for Cruzeiro
It's a second-straight Brazilian Superliga titles for Sada Cruzeiro after their 3-1 win over Sesi-SP on Sunday.
Captain Canada Fred Winters (Victoria, BC) was there to put his stamp on things, coming up with the final kill to clinch the fourth-set 25-19.
Sada Cruzeiro are Brazilian volleyball's newest powerhouse, this marking their fifth-straight trip to the finals, and their third title.
Next up, they compete in the FIVB World Club Championships in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. This will be Sada Cruzeiro's fourth appearance in-a-row at the annual competition. After making the final in 2012 and taking it all in 2013, last season's fourth-place result was a disappointment for the Brazilians, especially with the loss in the bronze-medal game coming at the hands of UPNC San Juan of Argentina.
Don't get too excited for this though, as the Championships won't start until October 27th. Luckily for you, the summer is packed with enough action to keep all the super-fans super-busy!
