Beach: Canada to Host 2017 World Tour Finals

The FIVB announced the schedule for the 2017 Beach Volleyball season today, adding a number of events to the calendar including confirming that the FIVB Swatch Beach Volleyball World Tour Finals would be returning to Canada August 22nd-27th. 

Chaim Schalk and Ben Saxton finished 4th at the 2016 World Tour Finals in Toronto 

Other notable additions include Rome June 7th-11th and Hamburg August 8th-13th. Both events are scheduled as five-stars - bringing the total of five-star events to five in addition to the 2017 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships and the World Tour Finals. 

The new FIVB schedule now has events ranked by stars depending on the quality of event and prize money available - one star being the smallest and five being the Major Series events. 

Toronto hosted the second edition of the Finals in September after the inaugural event in Fort Lauderdale in 2015. According to the FIVB announcement, the location for the Finals will be announced in March.
