World Tour Finals Coming to Toronto

The Major Series has announced the next location for the 2016 FIVB World Tour Finals - and the world's best will make their way to Toronto to crown the champions of the World Tour.

September 13th-14th, the top ten teams of each gender will battle it out for the top prize of $100,00 - the largest purse in the sport. Scheduled just weeks after the conclusion 2016 Rio Olympics, the tournament will surely be a place to settle some scores.

Canada hasn't seen a full-blown FIVB tournament since the Quebec Open in 2011, and while Toronto and has history of hosting FIVB Grand Slams, the last one was all the way back in 2000. What's even better - is every Canadian will have access to this event one way or another.

With free admission to the tournament - making a trip to Toronto should be a no-brainer. And if you can't make it to the 6ix - Bell Media has also jumped on-board with 14-hours of live coverage on TSN throughout the tournament - allowing the entire country to get in on the fun.

This announcement could not have come at a better time for Canadian beach volleyball. Joining powerhouse Brazil, the USA and the Netherlands as the only countries to send a full compliment of teams to the Olympics, the Great White North has never been stronger on the beach. Fans are about to get a unprecedented level of coverage.
