FIVB: Day 2 in Fuzhou
The slow start continues for Canada at the Fuzhou Open.
Kacie MacTavish (Sharon, On) and Caleigh Whitaker (Sharon, On) were the No. 2 ranked team heading into the Qualifier, and opened with a straight-sets win over Japan, 21-19, 21-12. Unfortunately, they did not qualify for the Main Draw, dropping to Azerbaijan 13-21, 21-19, 13-15.
Josh Binstock (Richmond Hill, On) and Sam Schachter (Richmond Hill, On) are the sole men's team in the Main Draw, ranked fourth heading to the event.
