Sadly, that time has come. The final event of the 2011 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour is here and we must start to say goodbye to the warm sand. The final event of the tour this year is a women's only event set in Phuket, Thailand. The Phuket Thailand Open will take place from November 1st - 6th, 2011 and Canada is sending four teams to close of the tour. Returning to Thailand to better their 9th place finish from last year, Heather Bansley and Elizabeth Maloney are the highest ranked Canadian team and have enough entry points this tournament to get a direct entry into the main draw. Behind them are Marie-Andrée Lessard and Annie Martin who have had a little bit of a disappointing season starting out with 860 points in their first event of the summer and direct main draw entries for their first four events. Team Lessard-Martin (now with only 320 entry points) will now have to go through the qualification part of the tournament. The remaining two Canadian duos that will be joining Annie and Marie in the qualification round are Victoria Altomare and Caleigh Whitaker and the team of Jamie Lynn Broder and Kristina Valjas.
As always check back to Kill on Two for results, live streams, matches and anything else we can find.
