UPDATE: All but one men's team (Redmann/Saxton) and two women's teams (Lessard/Martin and Bansley/Maloney) lost their first match. Regardless, all teams will play a second match today. Should a team lose for a second time, they are eliminated from the event. If it is their first loss, they still have a chance to win again today to return to competition.

So I am currently in the air on my way to Quebec City, Canada for the next stop on the 2011 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour. Quebec City is the only North American stop on the FIVB this year so many Canadian and American teams are utilizing this event as an opportunity to gain some international experience and maybe even get a few entry points to their names. Sandwiched between grand slam events overseas, some of the teams that regularly compete on the tour are skipping the Quebec event in favour of a week off. Country quota matches take place on Tuesday July 19th with many Canadian teams and a few American teams taking part. As always, check back to Kill on Two for scores, results and live streams.

UPDATE: All action is done for the day. Results are down the page after the jump.
The Ontario volleyball community was dealt a unpredictable blow two weeks ago. Wilfrid Laurier University cancelled their men's and women's varsity volleyball programs. This decision came as a shock to everyone including the players. The dust has settled, but things are still very unclear. We spoke with a few current players and former players as we tried to put together all of this information.
