Del Bianco Signs with SVG Lüneburg

CIS Player of the Year Nick Del Bianco (Surrey, BC) has signed his first professional contract with SVG Lüneburg of the German Bundesliga. 

Del Bianco led Trinity Western to a Canada West and CIS silver medal this year, adding to the two CIS golds he won in 2011 and 2012. He also has a wealth of international experience, both indoor and on the beach. He competed at the 2011 FIVB World Club Championships with the Spartans and represented Canada on four occasions in Youth and Junior World Championships, finishing in the Top 10 in all four.  

The 6'5 Surrey native will bring some firepower to a Lüneburg team needing to prove that this season's Cinderella story was no fluke. Fortunately for him, Erik Mattson (Toronto, On) has already re-signed for his second season with the club and will help Del Bianco to make the transition into the professional ranks.
