FIVB: The Hague Qualification (Live Video)

Fivb hague quali

Where has this summer gone?  Not too long ago I was writing our first post previewing the first stop of the 2011 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour.  This week we see the last tour stop of the summer coming from the HP Beach Open from The Hague, Netherlands.  Covering the FIVB tour for the first time this year has increased my knowledge of the sport greatly and I look forward to next year.  On top of that, attending the Jeep Open in Quebec City, Canada was probably one of my more favourite times in my 13 years of volleyball.  I look forward to going back next year, and hopefully going to some other events as well.

I'm getting a little ahead of myself here.  We do have one more event left this summer as well as two single gender events in the fall that are still technically part of this year's tour.  On the Canadian side of things, action is pretty quiet overseas.  Most Canadian teams are home for Canadian Beach Nationals this weekend in Toronto.  Only one women's and one men's team from Canada will be playing in The Netherlands this week.

Canadian Women in The Netherlands

Canada Lessard-Martin

Canadian Men in The Netherlands

Canada Hinchey-Vandenburg

Matches, results and live streams after the jump.

Annie Martin and Marie-Andree Lessard enter the main draw this week thanks to a wildcard while Andrew Hinchey and Ryan Vandenburg must go through the qualification phase.  This means we won't see any matches from Annie or Marie until later in the week while Ryan and Andrew play tomorrow.  Below is a list of qualification matches to keep an eye on as well as the live streaming video links for today's matches.

First Round

Portugal Maia-Rosas vs. Canada Hinchey-Vandenburg 1-2 (19-21, 21-16, 15-17)

Second Round
